Idaho Man Cuts Off Hand, Cooks It In Microwave.

Remember that part in Evil Dead 2 when Bruce Campbell's hand became possessed and he chopped it off and replaced it with a chainsaw? Well, that same exact thing happened to some guy in Idaho. Except instead of replacing it with a chainsaw he just cooked it in the microwave and called 911. According to MSNBC:

HAYDEN, Idaho - A man who believed he bore the "mark of the beast" used a circular saw to cut off one hand, then cooked it in the microwave and called 911, authorities said.

"It had been somewhat cooked by the time the deputy arrived," sheriff's Capt. Ben Wolfinger said. "He put a tourniquet on his arm before, so he didn't bleed to death. That kind of mental illness is just sad."

The Book of Revelation in the New Testament contains a passage in which an angel is quoted as saying: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink the wine of God's fury."

The book of Matthew also contains the passage: "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for you whole body to do into hell."

This is what I don't understand about Bible interpretation. If I looked down and saw the mark of the beast on my hand, I wouldn't focus on the "cut it off and throw it away" part. I'd turn my attention to the "drinking the wine of God's fury" part. I'm sure partaking in a little bit of God's Fury wine would be way better than lopping off your fist. God knows how to party. Dudes with one hand don't.
