Scarlett Johansson's New Album Cover

April 3rd, 2008 | 07:35 pm

If you've ever thought "I'm going to put out an album where all I do is cover Tom Waits songs," well, I got bad news for you.  People.com reports:

Scarlett Johansson's new album features covers of alternative troubadour Tom Waits's music, plus one original composition.

That's right, one original.  I'm hoping the original is just a never before released Tom Waits song, sung by Tom Waits.  That would be ballsy.  Now, really and truly, I posted about this because I am a huge fan of album covers.  The picture above is the cover of Scarlett's new album, but when I did some research, I found that it's only a small section of the album cover.  Apparently people.com couldn't show you the whole cover because it was too risque.  But I can.  Enjoy:

You know, I'm sure there are some celebrities that have good singing voices and could maybe put out a good album. I've never heard her sing I don't know if she is one of them or not.

But why is it celebrities feel the need to put out albums? Those of us who survived the 1980's know the horror all to well of the celebrity album. Court exhibit A: Philip Michael Thomas: Living the Book of My Life.
