Do I think Matthew Broderick is gay? No. But we've all heard the rumors that his marriage to Sarah Jessica Parker is a sham because he likes to pitch (and catch) for the other team and she...well, she looks like her. So, if you and I have heard these rumors, I'm pretty sure SJP has too. Which makes me wonder why she would say this in New York Magazine:
“Matthew doesn’t have enough friends,” she tells me, sounding very mother-hennish and adding that Matthew has mostly gay friends in New York.
If I were Sarah Jessica Parker (and I pray to God that someday I will be), and I had a slightly effeminete husband who people called a mega flamer, I might mention his love of the Chicago Bears or his ability pound countless beers at any given sporting event or his insatiable desire to cram as many hot dogs in his mouth at one time...um, maybe I'd skip that last one.
Maybe Matthew is gay, maybe not, I don't know or really care. I just feel sorry for the poor guy for being saddled with a wife who looks like she could actually be saddled. If he is gay and God is punishing him with Sarah Jessica Parker, then he is truly a vengeful God. I'm talking old testament lost in the desert for 40 years because you pissed off God vengeance.
Ferris was gay for many years, and even had a relationship with Mr. Rodgers for 7 years. He still dreeses like his former lover as a nod to the good times. Ferris began thinking that his super gayness was wrong, and later joined a heavily religious sect to repent. This sect saw being gay as the biggest slant against god and he was handed down a lifelong sentence of being married to SJP. Ferris is a great actor and takes his medicine well...he deserves a spot in heaven.
boring? didn't you see ferris bueller's day off? he played hookie, sang in a parade, swam in the pool'sof strangers, totalled a ferrari....the list goes on.
also, i haven't seen the stepford wives but i've heard nothing but sub-par things about it

If SJP had mentioned "his love of the Chicago Bears or his ability pound countless beers at any given sporting event or his insatiable desire to cram as many hot dogs in his mouth at one time", you guys would probably interpret that as her lying. It's a lose-lose situation for them. The fact that she said that he has gay friends just makes me believe he must be straight. I don't understand where the gay rumours come from. Just because Nathan's gay, doesn't mean that anyone he might have chemistry with is gay. Go and watch Matthew's performance in Mrs Parker and the Vicious Circle: he is definitely not gay.
Matthew is very shy, soft and old-fashioned and has some effeminate mannerisms, probably from his years growing up in theatre and living in Greenwich Village. I don't believe he is gay. He was known to be bi-sexual when he was younger, but probably put that aside when he realized he wanted to have a more traditional personal life. Many people do that. It's called making choices. He obviously has made his, so I don't know why people continue to make this an issue. If he weren't married to SJP, we wouldn't even be discussing it. He has had many girlfriends in his life, so what if he has gay male friends? He is an actor and lives in NYC, so why would that be unusual?
