best places to live des moines

MSNBC released their exhaustive and heavily-researched "10 Best Places To Live" feature today, and as you can see, Des Moines came in at number 10 on the list. With its "hometown atmosphere" "top public schooling" and "affordable cost of living," Des Moines sounds like a great place to live.

Except for one thing: The raging floods that lay waste to the town and force people to leave. Check out CNN's homepage, also today:

Call me crazy, but I prefer to live in a city that isn't under four feet of muddy river water. I'll take my chances in Cedar Rapids, thank you very much.

Umm...... this article was crap before the floods. Des Moines is a metropolitan island in the middle of Iowa. Know what that means? All the area criminals migrate to there. Rampant gang and drug crime are growing at an uncontrolled rate for the last 10 years. These floods won't help either.
