David Beckham Surprised People Like Him

I remember when Crystal Pepsi came out and everyone was like "Oh shit!  It's just like Pepsi but it's clear!"  Then after like a couple months people were like "Oh....shit.  It's just like Pepsi...but it's clear."  That's pretty much the reaction of David Beckham coming to the United States to play soccer.  I watched his first game in the MLS and they had a "Beckham Cam" and it was in the corner of the screen and it just followed Beckham where ever he was on the field.  Then sometimes he'd get the ball and Beckham Cam and the screen were the same and I'm pretty sure if anyone was doing acid and watching that they stabbed themselves in the face.  Anyway, my point is that Beckham's popularity is because women want to bang the English out of him so magazines follow him.  Example; the turn out for Beckham's new billboard in San Francisco.  Usmagazine.com reports:

"To be honest I was amazed by the huge billboard poster outside Macy’s department store, but even more amazed by the amount of people who turned up to see it!" he blogs on his Web site.

"I’m always surprised by the amount of attention certain things create, but the attention this campaign has created is pretty incredible," he added.
He's surprised at the reaction?  He put up an f-ing billboard of him semi-hard wearing tighty whities, in San Francisco.   There's nary a demographic in that town he ain't reachin'.  But, I'd just like to point out, this is not the only billboard he's done.  Here's a lesser known one he doesn't talk about:
