Brett Favres All Over Aaron Rodgers's Dreams

July 2nd, 2008 | 08:15 pm

I used to work the register at Mervyn's clothing outlet when I was 17 and this 18 year old dude worked the floor, where he got to talk to chicks and smoke pot in the Boy's undergarments department. Then he quit and I got promoted to the floor, but a week later he rear ended some car and came and got his job back and they moved me back to register, where 700 times a day I said the phrase "Would you be interested in getting 10% off today's purchase by signing up for a Mervyn's credit card?" while people looked at me with the sort of disgust normally reserved for seeing someone shit in a public setting. Well, I imagine the way I felt when that dude came back is about 1/1000000000 as upset as Aaron Rodgers is upon hearing Favre might come back. Espn.com reports:

With his family "tugging" on him to play, Brett Favre has an "itch" to come out of retirement and report to training camp with the Green Bay Packers later this month, according to sources close to the team and player.

Aaron Rodgers must be ready to pull a Tonya Harding.  And by that I don't mean assaulting Brett Favre, I mean getting depressed and then turning really fat and disgusting and taking nude pictures of himself to leak onto the internet.

I was thinking maybe he could just move to another team, but I think anywhere he goes, Favre will follow and take his spot.  I mean, at this point I almost feel like any job he takes, Favre will come and be top banana.

or even this

They'll have to put Aaron Rodgers on a suicide watch in case he tries to 'Lambo Leap' off the top of a building.

    Lambeau idiot.

Aaron Rodgers is confident in his abilities and well-grounded. He has his priorities in order and I hope he stays focused, continuing to move forward, no matter what Favre decides to do.

I interviewed Aaron Rodgers two years ago. It was one of those stories where a bunch of NFL players were asked the same 10 questions. His answer to "What hurts most after gameday?" was "Probably my back from standing on the sideline." So at least he has a sense of humor.
