When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. But when life gives your little Australian town 21,000 men and only 800 women, you take anything you can get. According to ABC:

Mount Isa's Mayor John Moloney says his city has a problem - a shortage of women - and he think he has the solution.

He's issued a call for those he describes as "beauty disadvantaged" to move to the mining town where he assures them they'll find a man.

There are some blokes here who are just as lonely as you are and Mount Isa is a good place to live and work and love and play and it is a good place to find a mate for life.

"Often those who are beauty-disadvantaged are unhappy with their lot. Some, in other places in Australia, need to proceed to Mount Isa where happiness awaits."

Mayor Moloney says he just wants to create a city that has more families.

You'd think that maybe the mayor of Mount Isa would first try and get attractive women to his town by making every night "Ladies Night" or something. It seems like he tipped his hand pretty early by begging for ugly women to just show up right off the bat. But, by the looks of this photo, it seems like his plan is working.
