Stupid poor people. Always eating food that doesn't cost very much. Well, that's not going to happen anymore in Los Angeles:
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A ban on new fast-food restaurants in poor Los Angeles which was passed in July, was intended to fight obesity in low-income communities of America's second-largest city where healthy food is hard to find.
Eye-popping calorie counts and the often unhealthy ingredients used in fast food have made the industry a favorite whipping boy for anti-obesity advocates and lawmakers.
Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry, sponsor of the moratorium, said she didn't want to eliminate fast-food chains in her 32-square-mile (82-sq-km) district, which is home to more than half a million people and 400 fast-food restaurants.
Instead, she said, the law was intended to give officials time to attract healthy alternatives and grocery stores, which are few and far between in poorer, urban neighborhoods.
Experts say supermarket chains are reluctant to open stores in such neighborhoods out of security and theft concerns
So, if we take the cheap food out of the poor neighborhoods, then the poor people won't eat inexpensive food anymore. At first I thought this was a ludicrous piece of civic legislation, but after going out to lunch at a fancy restaurant, I started to change my tune. As you can see, there were plenty of poor filthy children enjoying a little foie gras salad with a nice glassy of oaky chardonnay. They had to sit three-to-seat, but they can't have everything.

It's not like there are a lot of banks in the ghetto.
Instead pass legislation that forces fast food restaurants to only offer lower-calorie food and drinks, ones that fail to comply will be fined.
This politician is dumb, or she is lobbied by supermarket chains, in which case she is very smart (and sneaky).....please, don't create problems, fix them.
This is America, supposedly a free country. So this fucking fat cow decides that "the little people" aren't eating healthy enough so she passes a law that says you can't sell burgers to people?
And you people are trying to defend it? Hopefully, those who support this woman will accidentally hold a gun the wrong way as you rob the usual liquor store that is like a second home to you.

This is America, supposedly a free country. So this fucking fat cow decides that "the little people" aren't eating healthy enough so she passes a law that says you can't sell burgers to people?
