The good people over at Videogum asked a student with one and a half semesters of French under her belt to provide the subtitles for Audrey Tatou's new French film, Coco Avant Chanel. I think this video is very oui.
I don't know where you're from, but if you think that the translation is 99% right, you must be quite bad in english then... All that can be said is that each word is translated correctly, but put together, it doesn't make sense!
Actually, it looks like someone took the video on their computer and added those subtitles themselves to make it look like that. It is the same concept of using photoshop to modify a picture. It's just done by putting words over a video.
Wait, this doesn't make sense. If the translator is originally an English speaker, then at lease the English would be correct, no matter how horribly translated it is.
It even more so, it seems like the French is translated almost perfectly. If anything, they hired a French person with 1.5 semesters of ENGLISH to translate it, not the other way around.
I'm from Serbia, and even I never read such bad english. It dont make any sense. I like:
"Do you really think something something"
and
"She you like"
and
That who me misses is a yob"
Probably it is automatic program - translator (a bad one) that translate words literaly.
