You are a total dumbass who doesn't understand that other people (your bosses, included) also have the Internet. The next time you take a fake sick day, maybe you should not post it on your Facebook page. But since you are clearly a dumbass, you probably will anyway.
LOL! I have to laugh at this. this was all over the news in Australia around 4 months ago when it occured. This was a aussie bloke and he was infact at work and this was a prank put together by his work mates!
It did almost get him sacked for no reason though. he is still safely working at the same work currently.
He should just claim he's an alcoholic and that it's a psychological medical condition. Then they can't fire you either. Of course that's really swarmy and sleazy
It is because the tag line said that he was trashed. How does one get trashed (not garbage trashed) without alcohol and that it was updated the same day that he was "sick".
He was sick. It is not the concern of the company that his illness was due to alcohol or any other bad decisions. All the company needs to be concerned with is that he is not able to work that day.
Am I saying he was smart for getting trashed the night before he works? No... Should it be ignored? No...
One could argue that someone catches a cold because they didn't wear a sweater outside and don't deserve a day off because it was self-induced. Rediculous right? An irresponsible decision does not warrent breach of contract.
Again, The cause of the illness doesn't matter. and the fact that the boss goes out looking for this information and then holds it against the person professionally just means that he doesn't belong under that title. There is no room for drama like this in a managers position. Too many people are handed manager positions "because they have put their time in" when they really aren't qualified. The biggest part of being a manager is being able to deal with people, good and bad. Certainly he shouldn't re-hire this person when the contract expires, or shouldn't give him a great raise at review time.
This guys a douche but you can take a fucking day off if your hungover or whatever , its your professional rep that suffers and no-on can honestly say they give a shit when someone doesnt show up for work. Its all bullshit, I would be more pissed off if a double douche like Niresh or whatever tried to play pointless games basically pretending to not know that I was skiving off, thats a bigger waste of time right there.
In conclusion FUCK IT SICKIE WOOOO!
errm, a "cheque" is one of those bits of paper that your bank gives you to write on when you want to give someone money. Everything else is "check" (especially the verb). UK plus Aussie plus probably most of the Commonwealth.
If you don't know what you are talking about, don't try to come over like an expert ("hey, dud, I can speak, like, you know, foreign, like, you know, enlish")
wow ok... after reading the orginal post and reading the comments it might be real or it could be a joke either way i can see Kyle is NOT responsible.
For kyle or some one like kyle ( There is many people who do get trashed and called into work) if you work the next day don't get trashed. If you know its going to be a special occasion then take a vacation day to recover. but if you call into work DON'T post it on Facebook. I mean come on i'm friends with half the people at my job on facebook/myspace and the sad thing is that i know more about them from reading their personal pages randomly then from actually talking to them.
Also if your supposed manager is asking for proof on a 1 day call in then that means you call in a lot and already on the list of people they could do without, idiot.
If this was real, the posting would have confirmed what the poster said to his employee, not the other way around. He admitted to being sick in the post and that is what he told his employer. He never said to his employer what made him sick, but he claims that his contract doesn't require him to do so anyway.
misspelling....his "employee" should be his "employer" in the first sentence. Basically, the posting confirmed that the employee was sick and out for medical reasons. Drunk is definitely a medical condition in the same way that eating something that causes a medical condition would be. Now, if he is out too often for "Medical" reasons that might be controllable by him, the employer may decide to fire him...but that is another story.
You're joking, right? You're saying that going out and getting wasted + having a hangover is comparable to eating some food that happens to have been prepared incorrectly and therefore makes you sick? It sounds like you'd consider ANYTHING to be medical. If you sleep in, your being exhausted from going to sleep at 4am is a medical condition. If you just don't feel like going, your unhappiness in the workplace is a medical condition.
YESSS!!! jesus christ, I was wonderig if there was anyone else out there who also thought it was retarded to argue about this hilarious ass shit. THANK YOU LYNDA!!
this was way funnier in the original where kyle responded "lol epic fail" or something along those lines. but nice job yanking it and adding your own retarded ending.
haha i got screwed like this a few times, well i wouldnt do exactly that but id post on facebook "whos out tonight?" and post about where i was going then call in work tomorrow and they would know as i have almost all the staff i work with on my facebook. lmfao,

I don't see how he got pwned. He determined he was too ill to work and took a 1-day leave. In fact, his facebook status states he was "SICKIE"

It's a slang thing - a sickie in Australia is pretty well always a sick day taken when you are anything but.

Kyle posting above is not the real Kyle. An Aussie would not write 'check', in Aust it is spelled 'cheque'.

Fuck you

April 28th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
I mean unemployment check.

The fact that everyone here think that this is real is hilarious. You can clearly tell that the conversation is photoshopped.
