I try to refrain from posting every weird Japanese video I see, because if I did, this site would just be that. And I don't feel like a complete person if I'm not making dick jokes independent of weird Japanese videos. But this video I had to show you.
There are several layers of hilarity to this video. First, apparently Japan hasn't realized that putting people in black face is not a good way of honoring famous black people. Secondly, he looks like an animatronic puppet someone stole from Chuck E. Cheese, that was intended to play "Have a cheesy, birthday," and instead programmed him to play Louie Armstrong songs. I've seen weirder facial expressions on a human being before, but only when I was naked.
That's monomane, Japanese impersonation. It IS supposed to look poorly made and cheesy. It is in no way meant to honour anyone, monomane is done to portray stereotypes and clichés of a certain group of people/individual, in this case, black people. It just happens to be Armstrong this time. They could have picked Barack Obama or Oprah instead and it would have meant the same thing. Yes, it's definitely racism. It's the first time I see a monomane of a western star though, they usually pick on Japanese celebrities.
I'm actually surprised they didn't pick on this guy instead: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YEmeVeQe56U
Jesus christ how are these people so fucked in the head? its gotten to a point where its just plain ridonkulous. Japan used to be cool. in the 15th century.
Um - several layers of WTF might be a little more accurate of a description here. It went from corny Japanese fan video to, "alright - that's just fuckin' stupid" as soon as the fake trumpet was revealed.
Apparently, growling + black + trumpet boils down the essence of Louis Armstrong in Japan...
"I see them BROOM for me and you" There you have it ladies and gentlemen!!! Next time I make and oriental accent by turning all my "L's" into "R's" and someone gets offended. I will show them this video and then promptly tell them to drop dead!

I'm racist and I even found that offensive.

This was incredibly racist and not at all honoring of Mr. Armstrong. I'm sure another few megaton bombs would fix Japan's issues.

That's the act Tracy Morgan was born to play.
In yellow face.
