Mohammad Ashan Is The Stupidest Terrorist Ever

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find it hard to believe members of the Taliban were intelligent enough to fight back when U.S. forces landed on their soil. Every so often a bit of news comes out that makes you wonder if the people we were fighting didn’t have some kind of major brain damage. Take, for example, Mohammad Ashan.

Ashan is, or was, a mid-level Taliban commander. As such, he was wanted by the U.S. military. In an attempt to find him, American forces posted his wanted poster everywhere, because that’s standard when you’re chasing down bad guys. Just like in the old west, you put up a wanted poster offering a reward and, hopefully, people will come out of the woodwork to give the guy up for some easy money. You may be his neighbor, and he may through some killer parties, but you need that $100 badly. So screw’em – he’s getting turned in.

One thing I haven’t mentioned about Ashan that I’ve only alluded to is that he’s a fucking moron. Ashan is a class-A dipshit; just a real idiot.

“Ashan…walked up to a police checkpoint last week, pointed to the wanted poster featuring his face, and asked for the $100 finder’s fee noted on the poster”

This man, a terrorist wanted for plotting attacks on Afghan security forces, saw an opportunity to make a quick $100 and he took it, even though that opportunity meant turning himself in to the people he has sworn to kill; namely, us.

With our economy in such bad shape, you’d think we would be the ones doing extremely dumb things for money. Apparently, the Afghani economy is so bad terrorists are willing to do anything for a little bit of cash. Does being a member of the Taliban only pay minimum wage, which in Afghanistan I assume is a dry grain of rice in the middle of a handful of sand?

One official called Ashan “the Taliban equivalent of the ‘Home Alone’ burglars.” Another was quoted as saying, “Clearly, this man is an imbecile.”

These are our enemies. These are the people we’re fighting. Sure, they may not all be as stupid as Ahsan, but you have to assume that if he made it to be a mid-level commander, how many dipshits are there right now that think they can kill some American soldiers by running up to them and while trying to spontaneously combust? If Ahsan is your “mid-level” what the hell does the bottom rung on the ladder look like?
