There are many ways of dealing with allergies. You should neither deny a child the joy of loving a pet, nor use allergies as an excuse not to give a deserving pet a home. The Obamas should consider a rescue dog. There may be rescue organizations for some of the hypoallegenic breeds they are considering.
We have over 6 Hypoallergenic dogs in our rescue group. They just aren’t that hard to find and it’s way better than them spending hundreds of dollars on a dog whose parents are probably being bred to death in a puppy mill somewhere.
