Yesterday brought the heartbreaking news that legendary WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior had passed away at just 54 years of age, less than 24 hours after appearing on Monday’s installment of Raw. No cause of death has been released, but if we were to wager a guess, we’d go with “Epic motorcycle volcano accident.”
Born James Hellwig, The Ultimate Warrior was essentially the Kirk Lazarus of professional wrestling, in that he legally changed his name to Warrior in 1993 and never broke character regardless of whether he was in the ring or not. And although his in-ring accomplishments were illustrious in their own right — he was a two-time Intercontinental champion and one-time WWF champion — it was his certifiably insane fight promos that truly cemented The Ultimate Warrior’s eternal place in American culture. So to honor one of the most dedicated and memorable individuals to ever grace the world of professional wrestling, we present to you seven of The Ultimate Warrior’s greatest fight promos.
